The Square is hosting a back to school fundraiser and spelling bee August 1st! There will be a kids round 9yrs-16yrs and a adult round 17yrs-100yrs. The winner in each round will receive a SUPER sweet prize and then go head to head for the GRAND PRIZE! Please bring school supplies to donate if you are competing or viewing. We will have guest judges from local schools and will be partnering with DGI to collect as many school supplies as possible.

The rules:
Word Requests: Before you start spelling, you are allowed to ask the pronouncer to define the word, state its part of speech, provide alternate pronunciations, or use it in a sentence.
The Process: Listen to the pronouncer, pronounce the word clearly, spell it letter by letter, and state the word again to indicate completion.
Corrections: You can ask to start over, but you cannot change the letters or the order of the letters you have already spoken.
Time Limits: 60 seconds once the pronouncer first gives you the word.
