MOUNT HOLLY, North Carolina — Singer-songwriter David Childers is the proverbial study in contradictions. A resident of Mount Holly, North Carolina, he’s a former high-school football player with the aw-shucks demeanor of a good ol’ Southern boy. But he’s also a well-read poet and painter who cites Chaucer and Kerouac as influences, fell in love with folk as a teen, listens to jazz and opera, and fed his family by practicing law before turning in his license to concentrate on his creative passions.
The legal profession’s loss is certainly the music world’s gain! Childers’ new album, Run Skeleton Run, releasing May 5, 2017 on Ramseur Records, is filled with the kinds of songs that have made him a favorite of fans and fellow artists including neighbors the Avett Brothers. Scott Avett contributes to four tracks, and Avetts bassist Bob Crawford co-executive-produced the effort with label head Dolph Ramseur.
Join us on Thursday January 3rd from 8:00-10:30PM as David Childers graces our taproom again, this time with Robert Childers on drums and Korey Dudley on stand up bass.

It’s with wit, self-awareness, and emotion that Andrew Massey caws and coos his delightful brand of acoustic Americana. Raised in a blue collar, North Carolina family, Andrew first discovered a love for music through the whisper and crack of the classic rock radio station played in his mother's 1990 Plymouth Acclaim. However, the last decade of heartbreak, heartache, remarriage, and the birth of his first child have left Andrew Massey with an exceptional catalog of original material influenced by the songwriters of the 60’s and 70’s, classic country, and indie rock music. With a voice and stage presence loaded with passion and honesty, Andrew delivers his songs that somehow manage to be both abstract and relatable.
Free show at Little Brother Brewing from 5:00PM-8:00PM. Join us!

A couple of threads run through Frederick Ingram’s musical career: a certain intelligence, a love of the land, and an adoration for most everything English, particularly the language itself. Like many he’s been inspired by the waves of musical innovation and transatlantic dialog from the British Invasion to New Wave and Britpop.
Musically, Frederick was raised on British New Wave, a pre–MTV Unplugged legacy that really shines when interpreted acoustically. He has also delved into Beatlesque nostalgia, rendering the timeless songs that were his childhood introduction to popular music. We couldn't think of anyone better than Frederick to host a Beatles Tribute on a Sunday afternoon in November. Join us at 4PM on Nov. 4th for this free tribute.

Rush Morgan is an old soul at heart and a working man by trade. Getting his start in 2009 playing coffee shops in his hometown of Clemson, SC he's graduated to being a national touring artist and a locally renowned talent.
Morgan cut his teeth on the poetic lyricism of artists old and new such as Jackson Browne, Neil Young, and Mandolin Orange. They seem to have "spun a hushed, intimate series of songs into indelible melodies that moves from wistful folk-pop to warm, understated soul with the skill of a true musical omnivore." As an accomplished guitar player his hands never work alone. With influences from the languid guitar playing of John Mayer, B. B. King, and Stevie Ray Vaughn he's managed to obtain roots not only in old folk but old blues as well. He spent a year of his life living in Nashville cultivating and harvesting his songwriting chops as well as studying audio engineering and music business at Dark Horse Institute, forming the sharp point of the life he wants to live in music. Join us Thursday, Oct. 4th at 7PM for some folk and soul from Rush Morgan. Free Show.
